HALAKHAH: “A bull which is notorious for its kind,” etc. After it killed one human, is it not notorious29Any animal which killed “a man or a woman” has to be killed (Ex. 21:28). How can such an animal ever become notorious after three times if it is killed after the first time?? Rav said, if it killed three Gentiles30Who are not subsumed under the appellation “man or woman”. Babli 41a, in the name of Rav Sheshet.. Rebbi Yose ben Ḥanina said, if it pursued three times and it was estimated that every pursuit was for goring31For endangering humans, an animal may become notorious for trying three times..
